Postby wesblack on Tue Mar 27, 2007 7:28 pm

Here is a shot of the New Calrad xLobby IR remote control we are working on. It will be sold stand alone for external and internal USB use and will also be integrated into our Media Client and Server Case's. Most buttons will be have the ability to be remapped or assignable to system wide events. Pricing will be available soon.

The remote will work as a stand alone remote with keymapping capabilities and will not be proprietary to xLobby. So it will include software for re-mapping of keys so it can be used for other applications.

Keys include.

Most important for me is the ability to learn the tv/amp volume control and tv power button.

I use Xlobby and remote extensively, some buttons an Xlobby remote always needs are: back, close overlay, reset, and search. This remote looks way to generic for me. It is cool to see xlobby name on hardware though.

This remote style is IDENTICAL to my GeoVision (security cam system) DVR remote control. Look here:

There must have been a sale...

im guessing the real bonus here is the remapping software....

might it make it easier to configure so that i will eventually be able to use my harmony 550?

currently, ive noodled with the irtrans software that came with the zalman hd160 case and mce remote but since i dont use mce i have to remap with girder then use xremote within xlobby...

way too cumbersome even for most of us nerds...

The Geovision remote is most likely produced from the same factory we have contracted to produce our remote in Asia.

I have not stopped by the forums in a long time. Been using xLobby for over a year now. The remote is really cool. Is it available now if so from whom?

Thanks
