I have 1 listed on Mantis for a long time now. Wish he would fix this one although I see that there are 247 unassigned so who knows when.

From: Steven

Make sure you use the command "music->snap track" to enable the snapping feature, it wont work without this. It's on the musiccontrols2 page for example.

Also note you will probably need a startup trigger to set it each time xlobby starts as this setting is not remembered.

I really hate this issue and can't seem to make it work with the "snaptrack". I probably am doing something wrong so I posted a small video here:

I took this video down since Steven fixed the issue!

to show you exactly what I am seeing and ask what I am doing wrong.

Thanks,
PB

I think I see now,

snaptrack only works after 20 seconds of inactivity, reason being if you are looking for content and the music track changes it will change what ever you are looking at to the currently playing album.

there is a variable called "snaptrackwait" that is hard coded to the 20 seconds, you can set it to 0 with the "save to variable" command, that will make it so it snaps right away, but maybe what you need as an actual way to trigger the snap track command itself something like a "snap track now" command instead of a toggle

I think I understand you but changing snaptrack with a variable seems cumbursome. I think an event called "snaptracknow" that could be fired via "trigger on track change" would work more reliably than time based.

PhilB, I looked at your video again to make sure I was fixing what you wanted. Then I thought of a new way to fix this, it will be fixed in next build.

0000693, if using next/previous track on a page with playlist, playlist will auto page if required

and since S Pittaway said he needed this, I wasn't sure if he wanted a direct command to snap track so I added that also to the next build.

0000692, new command "music->snap track now"

I have tested this and here is the result:

1 - the fix initally works on playlist pagenation.
2 - If I load the category and shuffle it (which is the norm for me), it does not work.
3 - So with #2, I added the new "snap track now" after the shuffle event and it does snap but the current playing highlight is not enforced.
4 - If I then click "next track" it highlights the current playing again.

I think if you can look at the issue in item #3, this one would be perfect.

*** EDIT ***
After a skin restart, the "snap track now" + shuffle playlist works great. So happy to have this minor but annoying issue corrected. Steven is good, Steven is great. All hail Steven.

Thanks,
PB
