Post-It Widget

Postby wesblack on Sat Apr 21, 2007 11:19 pm

Colby came up with a cool idea for a Touch Screen Post-It's widget and I had some free time to create it. It's not exactly what I wanted but it works. There are some other way's to do this that is more graphicly pleasing and interactive but would have required more time and effort to create. At the moment you can write accross the page curl and time permitting I will fix this. Below are some screenshots and basic instructions.

Colby's Origional Concept

Setup the Widget in xLobby:
Create a button in xLobby to launch a OS execute file event and point it to the xLobby Post-It.exe. The Post-It Widget when launched will always be the top most window and will stay on top of any selected item in xLobby, until it is closed.

Exposing Controls
Touching the bottom of the Post-It window will expose 3 buttons.

1. (Trash), This button will close the Post-It note.
2. (Clear), This button will clear any writing on the Post-It note.
3. (Time), This button will add a Time and Date stamp to the top window of the Post-It note.
If no selection is made or no response from the user is selected the window will hide the controls in 6 seconds.

Multiple Post-It notes can be launched

Enjoy !

Cool widget. It would be great if you could adjust the size of the post-it....larger is better.

i would also recomend make the "default" note view (ie just a note) use a trasparent dialog and drop the menu...

will take all of 5 mins? :)

do that and you pretty much have what colby asked for :)

I am also seeing that it is somewhat hard to "write" notes. The lines come out as dots unless I go really slow.

Another thing that could be great is the possibility to store notes in a folder in case I want to restart my computer and keep my notes.
