Audio zones help

Postby lar282 on Mon Aug 30, 2010 7:31 am

Hi
I looked at the diagram
http://xlobby.com/news/wp-content/uploa ... setup1.jpg
and I was wondering if somebody could explain a few things for me.

1:/ Are the clients running full xlobby and not in client mode?
2:/ How are the music zones hooked up to the client machines? I mean how do the clients know what zones they belong to. Or are they connected to a Xlobby server all of them?
3:/ What wires do the amps need for zones to work. I just do not understand how this works but it looks great and I want it -:)

What I am trying to ask is:
How does music sync work for the 12 zones?

Thanks in advance

This basic setup was from a Job that was done in Cabo San Lucas (Mexico). Each room has its own xLobby mini, 12 mini clients total and and all of them are pulling movies and music from several NAS systems. Each room has a direct control screen to a Zone of 2 X RS232 connected Russound CAV systems for 12 zones. The CAV units are not shown on the diagram. The xLobby Music Sync feature is not necessary since the Russound system can take any source and distribute it thru-out the property.

Thanks for the great pictures Wes.

So if I understand it right, Xlobby does not have anything to do with playing music in the zones. That's taking care of the russound device. Xlobby is just used to play videos/music in the particularry room?

How much is a device like that cost?

Regards
