Andy,

Install this filter to play APE audio files, it works with the DirectShow music playback engine.

Wes, briliant, i'll give it a go when i get back home from work!

edit - it works!! :D

Any idea why AC3 disables SPDIF passthrough so processor cannot decode raw signal? :?

Thanks for your help.

Ok, managed to get passthrough to stick in AC3 filter, no sound is passed out though so i am giving up and going back to trusty zoomplayer, ahh welcome back old friend!!

Cannot put up with crappy PC generated AC3/DTS, vocals are terrible...even my Audyssey Sound Equalizer standalone sticks its tongue out

Andy,

Do you have a hardware list of your computer, motherboard, sound card if it is not built-in to the motherboard. Screen shots of your Zoom player audio setup that works would be helpful. You will eventually want to use the built-in player because xLobby version 3 will allow you to tie lighting events, bookmarks, movie ratings, etc into the player easily, providing a powerful link to other elements inside xLobby.

Wes, v3 sounds better and better...i will post a concise list and screen shots of zoomplayer and what AC3 is doing or not!! under xlobby. I have spent hours and hours trying to solve this problem.

I am hoping when i build my new media pc in next few months for Bluray and yes HD DVD i will avoid any problems i am having with current machine.

edit. here you go...

ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard
Digital Audio Labs Card Deluxe sound card
P4 3.2 running on XP

My Zoomplayer settings that do proper passthrough of sound...

Breaks passthrough on spdif...sound produced but processed by PC defaulting Arcam to Prologic 2

If i uncheck "Check Output Format Support" passthrough is achieved but there is no sound and slider bar on left jigs up and down.
