Pre-configured version of Xlobby?

Postby nazimm on Thu Jun 03, 2004 7:20 am

Hi All,
Just new on this forum and I am toying with the idea of getting a media pc for my living room.. so looking for that perfect front end!

Been playing with MyHTPC so far and came accross Xlooby but if I understand it correctly a lot of work is needed by users to get to do things.

Is there any pre-configured version with video and audio players pre-installed so that it is up and running frm the word Go? A version with Dutch EPG would be perfect....

Thanks for this

It's really pretty simple...

You just need 4 programs:

* Xlobby (free)
* WinAmp (free)
* Zoomplayer (free)
* some DVD software (WinDVD or PowerDVD) - (commercial)

Installing all 3 first listed programs is really easy, then all you need to do is specify zone(s) in Xlobby for Winamp.

thanks for all your Help!!

All I need to figure out now is how to install Skins... the guide is very confusion (or it's me!)... If you guys have a step by step Skin installation guide for complete newbies/ dumbos like me that would be great

Easy.

* Download zip file with skin.

* unzip to a folder, most of the skins are already zipped in a "skiname" folder

* move this folder into Program Files\Xlobby\skins directory

* start xlobby

* press F2

* goto skins tab

* select skin from the list

I posted a MSI (installation) package in the tips and trick forum a few weeks ago.
http://www.xlobby.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=8904#8904

Nobody was interested so I think I removed the link.

The instalation contained

1/ Xlobby
2/ winamp
3/ Zoomplayer (confgiured)
4/ mplayer

music doesn't play because winamp isn't started. Autostart it.

Video?What kind of video?
dvd,avi,mpeg,mpg?
All videos must be in the database Movies2
The dvd:s must be in Movies.

it uses zoomplayer for dvd:s and mplayer for rest.
