Here is the link to the zipped xltv folder.

the xmltv.xml file seems to have a lot more channels than I can see in the plugin window. Maybe, the format of the xmltv file is not what the plugin is expecting. Please take a look. Very much appreciate your help.

may be, but, as you tried to put it in the xmltv directory of xlobby and that xlobby doesn't work (in this case, it was not processed at all by the plugin) , I guess that it is the file that has a problem

Sorry about the link, Badubo.

Let me try to give the link to the shared folder in my Yahoo Briefcase. This hopefully should work.

ok, I took a look at your xmltv file :
if I take 2 channels : I see
Code: Select all

    <display-name> 130 AMC </display-name>
    <display-name>130 AMC ECHOST:-</display-name>
    <display-name>130</display-name>
    <display-name>AMC</display-name>
    <display-name>AMC</display-name>
    <display-name>Satellite</display-name>

    <display-name>118 AETV</display-name>
    <display-name>118 AETV ECHOST:-</display-name>
    <display-name>118</display-name>
    <display-name>AETV</display-name>
    <display-name>A & E Network</display-name>
    <display-name>Satellite</display-name>

As you see, there are several "display-name", which is the good one? According to the xmltv requirement, it s the first one (is it?)
If yes, I can only take the first one

Actually, In xltv, the implementation makes that I take the last one "Satellite".
As both channels have the same "name", the second erase the first (and so on). It is why you don't see all channels.

I guess that xlobby can't manage at all such duplicate display-name.

Futhermore, you don't see nothing in EPG because you didn't make relationship between xmltv sources and your channels

Badubo,

Many thanks for deciphering the xmltv file for me. I will investigate into how I can fix this issue.

I am aware of creating the relationship but I was trying to fix the xml channel listing problem first.

Thanks again. :)

I will investigate into how I can fix this issue.

According to the xmltv :
Code: Select all
<!-- A user-friendly name for the channel - maybe even a channel
number. List the most canonical / common ones first and the most
obscure names last.

So, If you agree to use the first possibility only, I have made the modification .
You can test :
http://france.xlobby.com/forum/badubo/XLTV.dll
Tell me if it works so I can update the package

That is so cool :D

The first display name is exactly what I want.

I will try the new dll tonight and am very confident that it should work.

You are so fast and saved me so much trouble. Thank you very much.

Badubo,

Let me first say that the new DLL does show me all the channels. However, the plugin still does not populate the EPG after I associated several channels with MT favorites (Yes, I clicked on save list button :) )

I must admit that I did not get too much time to play with the new dll yesterday so the results are preliminary. I will post more detailed observations later. Thanks a lot for your help.

:roll:

Badubo,

I think I am very close to getting this EPG issue resolved but not quite there yet.
For simplicity purpose, here is what I did:
1. Reinstalled the plugin
2. Updated the plugin with your modified dll
3. deleted everyting in xlobby\xmltv folder
4. I drastically reduced the size of my epg (xmltv.xml) to 3 channels only
5. In the "tuners" tab of your plugin, I only imported those 3 channels
6. I established the relationship of those 3 MT channels to my EPG
7. Created a favorite list of those 3 channels called "fvt"

When I start xlobby, it freezes at "Building guide: fvt". When I look at the xlobby\xmltv folder, I can see fvt.xml that is created by your plugin. It seems to me that the file is complete. However the xlobby does not want to go past that building guide screen.

Please take a look at my zipped xltv folder for additional info

if the fvt.xml is created, the job of xltv is done (and correcly completed).
I guess it is a problem inside xlobby. Only steven can change that.

I see nothing in this link..
Can you add the fvt.xml generated file?

Sorry about providing a bad link again. I am not having a good luck with Yahoo briefcase since I lost my premium account a couple of days ago.

Here is a rapidshare link for zipped xltv folder

http://rapidshare.de/files/9706446/xltv.zip.html

and for fvt.xml

http://rapidshare.de/files/9706733/fvt.xml.html

You will have to click "Free" button on rapidshare after clicking on the link and enter the three letter code on the next screen.

Thanks.

If we take a look :

Code: Select all
<programme start="20051223000000 UTC" stop="20051223003000 UTC" channel="mt.cmdy">

Comedy Central Presents

    <desc lang="en">Lewis Black.</desc>
    <date>19991127</date>

    <episode-num system="dd_progid">EP288638.0022</episode-num>
    <episode-num system="onscreen">601</episode-num>
    <subtitles type="teletext" />
    <rating system="VCHIP">
      <value>TV-14</value>
    </rating>
  </programme>

there are several categories, several episode num...
I guess it is why xlobby cannot read it.
I cannot make anything on this issue it is up to steven to allow such kind of xmltv format

Badubo,

Can you please try out my xltv config on your computer and rule out other potential issues.

If it indeed turns out to be xml format problem as you stated, I will write a script to remove multiple field entries from the xml file until Steve shows up again on the board.

Thanks.

Oh, one more thing:

In the xlobby\xmltv folder, I only see fvt.xml file created by your plugin. In the past, I remember seeing another file with .dat extension or something. Is that normal ?
