PDA THin Client

Postby rberger3 on Thu Dec 27, 2007 4:04 pm

What are the requirements of a PDA or smart phone to run xlobby as a thin client? Is there a list of phones or does it just need a certain version of windows mobile? Also, i know very little about the technology, is there a walkthrough about setting it up on the phone?

Thanks

Doesn't take much to run it... I've ran it on a bunch of different ones totally fine. As old as a dell axim x5, with windows mobile 2003 on it, and as new as my samsung PDA phone or asus PDA both with windows mobile 6.

I'm pretty sure I remember you need the .net compact framework on the device installed.

This is a guide that should get you goin

Thanks Jowaldo!

I will look into this.

I'm not sure but is the text supposed to be that way in steves post? It's kinda hard to read.

Also, will this work with the free version? Are there only certain skins that work?

if you copy and paste the text into a document on your desktop and open it, it will look normal. It's HTML markup.

sorry, wasn't clear.

Open notepad with a blank document.
Copy that posting from the line starting <h2> to the end of his post <br>
Paste it in the blank notepad file
CLick File then SAVE AS. Change file type to ALL FILES and put the name as ppc client.html and save it to your desktop
Now, when you open it, it will open in Internet Explorer and display correctly.

I run it on my Sprint PPC6800 Mogul. You could also use the new HTC Touch and the Treo 700wx should work. It should run on any of the windows based phones.

Hope that helps!!!
