how does theme's work

can't figure that out, i was hoping it would be something like a color theme so i could define a red theme a black theme and so on: like this..just by selecting theme

I believe they just affect FONT and RECTANGLES colors...

ok.. i just use a rectangle as background so that's what i want!

so if i clone my default skin and change the color assigned to the background the background should change when i select the new theme?

can't get it working that way..

no thats not how it works, you have to create a child. Just say you have a rectangle and its called "rectangle round" as the display resource name. You will add a child to that resource and give it the name of your theme...like "sony blue"...now whenever you are using "default" it will use "rectangle round" but when your using the "sony blue" theme it will use the child of "rectangle round" that is called "sony blue". Hope you follow that.
