What about Rako? http://www.rakocontrols.com/

They are quite big in the UK custom install market but an easy reliable diy fit too.

I´m hoping for EIB (European Instalation Bus) http://www.knx.org/
But i guess i´v have to wait untill Xlobby goes world wide :D
The association has partnership agreements with more than 21.000 installer companies in 70 countries...

Rika,

Glad you brought KNX up, we have been looking at doing this and have a company local to us that is pushing this standard here in the U.S. and wants to use xLobby with the KNX protocol. I have looked at the standard and feel it would definately be a benefit to Calrad and xLobby. When we are close to having something integrated in xLobby, I will post it in the xLobby news.

Thanks for sharing.

Rhinoman,

I Looked at Rako communications protocol and it looks like we could add this to xLobby. The way this will work with xLobby Ver 3.0 is the more individuals, system integrators that request a certain lighting product the higher the priority of eventually adding it to xLobby. Obviously we can not add every technology right away, but at some point more and more Lighting technologies will be added over time.

Thanks as well for sharing Rako with me.

:D This is great!!! :D

Another question. Mean while, any change that we could have x10 comandes as triggers. This way i could convert EIB comandes to x10 (and vice versa) and trigger button toggle states and events. We could also use a x10 remote or a x10 wall controller to trigger events like volume, play, stop, light scenarios and more.

Rika,

Good idea, let me discuss this with Steven. If I do not post an answer back in a reasonable time frame, just remind me here in this thread again.

Thanks,

this is primarily for lighting, which is why i'm posting it here. What about a UDP broadcast receiver for home automantion programs already in place that send these out when changes occur? We would need some user programmable logic in it to recognize the various signals. A plug-in would be best here, I think. The reason I keep bringing this up is for those that already have a workable home automation system in place (in my case with PowerHome) and don't need to duplicate everything in another system.

cmhardwick,

Steven and I went and looked at powerhome and the UDP protocol as well as the forum posts you have there. This will definately be possible in xLobby Ver 3.0, but the issue at the moment is getting it on our list of things to do. We are so busy right now getting Ver 3.0 finished and xLobby hardware based systems have been flying out the door here at Calrad  .

Better busy than twiddling your thumbs, huh? I wouldn't mind doing the plugin, but i haven't done any programming in YEARS!!!!

Glad to hear it's on the radar though! I hated the thought of completely rebuilding my automation.

Looking forward to the new items ...

Or X10 via the CM-1 or ACT TI103 interfaces?
Using Aaron's xseer plugin which works perfectly w/HomeSeer.
Just curious.

On the first Alpha pre-release of xLobby V3 we did not include the lighting services and Russound Multi-Zone audio services, Steven wanted to finish up a few things first in the new skin editor. We are close to another Alpha release with the services included and also the new event management system with time, date, etc. Sereen shots and full details will be posted soon. :D

I know that I, among several others, are very, very glad to see KNX in the new xlobby brochure. :D
Is KNX some how included in the next Alpha release? (Do you need any Beta testing? )

Siemens modules will be here this week as well as some other KNX based products. We will start working on KNX protocol and integration over the next 30 days. I will be posting more details of when we will include it in a Ver 3 release. We are developing a partnership with Next Systems a certified KNX (EIB) certified company here in Los Angeles. They have some very cool KNX lighting and control products with a large facility very close to us, they are very intersted in xLobby as a control and media management platform. We will be using there facility in the future for xLobby-KNX product demonstrations and training.

Next Systems Website:

Glad your interested.
