XL opens as a window

On my mini Sony Vaio XL is opening as a windowed programme. The top windows staus bar is still visible. Cannot see a way to get rid - any help would be appreciated.

Update to a newer exe.

A version that ran as a window was released a while ago. Steven was trying to fix some issue but has since removed it from the newer exe's.

Downloaded new exe - still the same. I am going to do a fresh install. i'll see how it goes.
