homeseer

Speak your mind

homeseer

Postby ingalls on Sun Oct 31, 2004 7:52 pm

Hello, I'm french and I saw you guys were integrating Homeseer.

I have some questions about it:

1) how do you integrate it with the hcs plug in (I didn't find it in the homeseer site) and how do you integrate it in xlobby (event manager, tec...)

2)I said I'm french, and so the electricity system is 220V...
I found an european store that sell X10 things, but I don't understant wich module I should buy to control 3 lamps and 1 videoprojector in homeseer.
http://www.intellihome.be/english/index.html

3)I would like to know if it was possible to do some macros in xlobby, buy example, select a movie, touch play button will dim the lights and start the videoprojector and few seconds after the film start!!!

Thanks for precious help!!!

ingalls,

I'm not sure about the HCS plug-in.
As for controlling lighting and appliances get Lamp Modules and Appliance Modules, respectively.

As for macros...
My goal is to use Homeseer as the "Back-end" and XLobby as the "Front-end". So basically, all the macros would be stored in Homeseer (I have most of this already) and XLobby would only be used to trigger the macros within HS (set lighting, send IR to audio/video, etc) and show the status of lighting, scenes, security, etc.

This way, if XLobby changes, the macros are stored in the "back-end" and I do not need to rebuild my XLobby interface.

This also allows us users to share our XLobby skins with virtually no modifications needed!

ingalls,
the xap plugin for hs you get here: http://www.mi4.biz/modules.php?name=Content&pa=list_pages_categories&cid=5
You can use any common Interface (e.g. cm11, ocelot,...).
The XLobby plugin for hs you get here: http://www.xlobby.com/files/hiller/xAPplugin.zip Caution! It's on a very early beta state. Here you'll find the discussion about this plugin:
http://www.xlobby.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2100&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30
For three Lamps and one Projektor you need 3 x LM12 and 1 x AM12.

Thanks for responding to this guys, I haven't been keeping up with the rest of the board lately...

I am the one TRYING to get a HomeSeer plugin going. As Heiko said, it's definately a beta, actually it's pretty much an alpha...

You should be able to turn devices on and off. If you have any questions just post them in the plugins section. I check there a lot.

thanks for it!!!

I'm very confused between xap-x10 and firecracker systems
I don't what will work in france. (220V)
There is only web show like intellihome in europe...
I don't know if firecraker works in france...

And there is a lot of solution to conect computer with these systems and homeseer (lutron,cm11,smarthome usb, homeseer usb,...)

I think i will start with cm11 as eiko said to me!!!

ingalls,
maybe you still confused, but on a higher level :D
Don't care about the differences between US and european X-10 Hardware. I's the same; excluding the power supply. I use for myself some low voltage parts from the US in Germany.

ingalls

I use many different ones... go to http://www.smarthome.com and look up X10 brand appliance modules and lamp modules... I use many of each.
I also use several different leviton light switches.

mine do not give two way communications (status) but as long as I use Homeseer to set the devices I know what they are set at.

Ingalls,
cm11 is a two-way interface. You can send X-10 commands AND receive the status of your devices. (wired)
cm17 is a one-way interface. You only can send commands (wireless by RF)
Z-Wave is a newer RF Standard.

Hi ingalls,

CM11 is an interface between your PC (serial or USB port) and the plug in your wall to receive or send X10 standard order.

Z-Wave is a new standard based on RF transmission but it's incompatible with X10.

If you want more explanation you know how to contact me
