Automatic Updates or not?

Just wondering how many of you have the Microsoft updates automatically installed. In the past all of my computers have always had automatic updates turned on but after hearing a few of you with problems with XL after an update I turned it off a while back.

Just curious what everyone else does.

My xlobby machine and 2 *MCE machines (for tv recording) are all set to NOT get automatic updates, they also dont have firewalls or antivirus but also never go on the internet or get email.

If I have a need to use the internet from those machines I just use RDP to get into my desktop machine.

I am of course sat behind a hardware firewall built into my router.

I do it manually every 3-6 months....
