USB HDDs

Postby mexanh on Thu Jun 23, 2005 2:14 am

Hi guys, I intend to use my IDE HDD in a USB enclosure to store my DVD contents. I will have several of these hooked to USB. Each of my IDE HDD will be partition into for partitions. Will that be ok? Will it cause any date corruption or something? When I configure my Xlobby, how do I link those HDDs for my DVD sources since the drive letter may change (will it?) Please help. Thank you very much. It will have to be at least USB 2 (not USB 1) for DVD. The drive will need to be formatted in NTFS, not FAT, to accomodate large file transfers. The drive letters should not change unless you are rearranging the external drives after setting them up. You will access the drives' folders the same way you would any file on your PC.
Good luck.

In case you dont need the portability of a usb drive why not make your own raid system...saw a post just the other day on slashdot about one.
