Hi,

Not done a lot with music thus far, but about to start looking at playlists and zones. I am currently just using winamp, can anyone give me a short list of the advantages / disadvantages of using foobar?
What do other people use?

I tried both Winamp and Foobar. I found Foobar much "lighter", i.e. less
bloat, faster and more responsive. The gap killer feature is fantastic,
especially for classical or dance/trance music. The SDK is simple and
easy to use for plugin writers (my first plugin ever was a foobar plugin
for Girder's DVDSpy). Finally, I wanted to get bit-perfect sound, so
this meant using Kernel streaming, or ASIO with a ASIO to KS wrapper,
Winamp does not support KS, and the ASIO plugin is confusing and buggy.
Foobar supports KS natively, and has an ASIO plugin which apparently
works well.

I use foobar for audio books, just because....no other reason.

I used to use foobar for a while but switched back to winamp because I wanted access to an equalizer in xlobby.
