Xpad broken on latest build (FEB) SOLVED

UPDATE:Solved in latest bleeding 24 Feb
Hi
After updating to last bleeding edge my Xpad will not work anymore -:( It worked right before the update and after it behaivs very strangly.

Wierdness:
The client can reach the page (:8002/web) and I can see the clock is moving so its live! I press a button to goto a page, but nothing happens. If I press refresh in the browser it goes to the new page.
So to sum it up the client will not go to a new page without me having to press refresh on the browser.
WRONG:Spoke to soon, they do not have the same XL version:------Also I got another server running and there the client works. That server is also on the latest bleeding edgde but the OS is x64!

Question:
What components of the Xlobby is taking care of the webserver? Is it built into the xlobby2.exe or is it a dll? Is there any special requirenments for the webserver to work properly? The log doesn't give any errors just postdata stuff.
Please help -:(


system:
Server=Win 7 Ultimate x32
Firewall=Off
Patches=all up to date
Network=Same network, all wired
Client=Android 3.2, Galaxy 10.1

Did some more checking.

Xpad is broken in the latest bleeding. It works on a win 7 MSIE browser but not on a android browser.

Tried to revert to 29 Jan 2012 version of XL and now all is okey.
Updated to 17 Feb bleeding and its broken.

I did think I had the same version on both the servers, but I was mistaken. The one that worked had a version from 23 Jan and that one worked.

I'll check it out next week I probably broke something working on the native app, I did a quick test on the ipad and it's working...so it must be just the Android browser.

But since you are using Android you could try the new Android app if you want, use the webserver ip and port in the settings area, then you should be able to connect. I would be interested to know if you find the native app faster than the browser app.

Steven, I tested it on two servers one running helix and the other running simplicity. Both servers are on latest bleeding edge as of 2/14/12. I am using a vizio 8" tablet with Android 2.3.2. Here are my first impressions:

• Speed: I think it is a little faster. I am running N over a gigabit backbone.
• Rendering: much better. The resizing of the screen elements is very good.
  
  • Even the controls screen renders very well
  • It did not render well under the browser
  Movie:
  
  • Rendering for both servers is very good
  • There is a playback issue that happens in the native app and the browser app. When you select a movie for play it does not play that movie it plays whatever category movie it is currently on in the server. So I press the play button for avatar and I get 101 dalmations. - Should I put this in Mantis?
  Music:
  
  • Some issues with music screen rendering. button overlap on images in simplicity
  • Music selection and playing works well on both servers
  • On simplicity prism music layout does not work: no artwork, no selection bar, track list does not show

Possible enhancement:

• Allow for multiple servers to be setup and selected from the initial startup screen.
• It would be great if you could launch a skin like you can from the browser I would really like to use the custom skin I built for the android tablet.
• Provide an ability to launch android programs from the screen so I could run programs like TMT3 remote control

Ok now I am astounded. I just tested the native lobby on my HTC Inspire. In landscape mode it not only renders well but it is very usable. (People with large fingers need not apply. ) The only screen that did not render completely was the controls screen. Some of the text was ourside the buttons.

Very cool. Here is Swedens findings

* Faster renderer than a browser
* Better scaling than a regular browser
* The test buttons work(sound and voice control

Wishlist:
* We must have a entry point for the screen we want to goto to.Like the browser. ex: 8002:/Web/xpad_menu
* Should be an option in the menu when u are connected to both REFRESH and GOTO MENU. I do believe we need refresh just in case something goes wrong. Also we need the goto menu like a panic button if one gets stuck in the skin. to be honest it will happen -:(
* 2 connection details and make one def and option to connect at startup.
* Option to keep device alive, so the tablet/phone does not go to sleep.
* device as a music zone -:)


Not working:
* I got problems with some overlays. It will not close but if one connects through a browser instead one can see that it did close. So its the same bug as android browser. It will not refresh itself.
EDIT:tested more and its just not in oneplace but it do happens when I do this:
goto playlist, load playlist. Works. Do it again and it gets stuck on the screen load playlist. This means I cannot get back without starting another computer,open browser and goto another page -:(

Tried with default skin and I get into problem there aswell. Load playlist, close, load playlist close..not working

I ment so the android device do not goto sleep. a keepalive option for the android device. Just like example GPS apps have.

After this all is meaningless cause one cannot get out of the loop. This is why we need a "Menu->Refresh"

If one goes back to app startpage and then ppresses connect again, its all black

downloaded Helix, and downloaded latest Android apk.

The prob I see exist in that skin aswell.
I cannot press the controls button on the home screen in Heelix. Nothing happens.
lpg can u try this aswell. Maybe its my setups that are broken somehow -:(
