Ripping and cataloging from within Xlobby

Postby grafpaper on Mon Sep 05, 2005 5:01 pm

I must say, I discovered Xlobby this morning and it is exactly what I was looking for; a way to organize and catalogue my DVD collection.

My only question is, are there any plugins available that would allow me to rip and catalogue from withing Xlobby?

there is a dvd rip plugin if I'm not mistaking.

even though the app is not developed anymore it should work.

Or just pick a ripping app that supports command line and set up an event to run it.

yeah, I have that plugin, but it doesnt seem to integrate with Xlobby... like there is no button or prompt when i put in a DVD that asks if i want to rip. I guess that is what i'm looking for.

That would be a feature of the skin you are using. I beleive that the Static skin has support for the DVD ripping plugin.

Static skin seems to support what I'm looking for although it seems to be extremely buggy. It has a hard time getting video files to run in zoomplayer and it never detects a disc in my DVD drive. I'm not quite sure if its the skin or if its my fault, but im gonna try to work with it.

I am also not able to play music at all, in any skin i use. It says playing but then the timer always says 0:00/0:00 and i hear nothing. Any advice?

Thanks a lot in advance

you might have to edit the configuration file for the DVD Ripping Plugin, it might be looking for a CDRom with a different Drive letter!

What sort of Problems are you having with zoomplayer?

Have u set the AUTO PLAY in xlobby to autoplay dvd:s? Press F2 and look for the option.

I think u post zoomplayer question over at the inmatrix forum cause it sounds like a zoom issue and not a xlobby issue. They are really good at zoomplayer and bligh is good at answing posts.

Also check out the help pages for xlobby, I think it was colby that wrote a really good paper on xlobby for beginners.

yeah it seems like it. Tinkering with it to get what i want is a lot of fun. It about the journey not the destination.
