Idea for a video/audio backend....

Hi,

Have you looked at running VLC? Its called Video Lan. Its an awesome little 'free' piece of software that runs everything, including ISO images, divx, mpeg, etc. Its played everything I've thrown at it.

Might be a neat idea to incorporate that into Xlobby.

Let me know if this sounds good to you.

I highly recommend it.

'mplayer' is also another staple of the open-source media players. I think this is MythTV's big thing... very scriptable.

VLC would be a good idea, because it also have streaming capability.
I've tried it and the streaming worked great. I played the movie on my server, and the kids watchd it on there PC.
