dvd playback configuration

Postby billberet on Sat Dec 20, 2008 11:39 pm

hey again.

ok i'm having issues with dvd's freezing the entire server and i have to pull the plug to reset.
avi's and other multimedia have no issues, only when i play video_t's

i am using cyberlink 7 dvd ultra, and i am using the cyberlink graph files.
when i use the default graphs, server crashes, ffddshow graph, server crashes.
on the filetype, i have cyberlink.exe as the player for video_t files.
but i am not passing any parameter, i have that field blank. Is there a proper parameter to pass?

outside of XL, the cyberlink plays fine, i can play the entire movie with no issues, inside XL, i can get about 20 minutes until crashing.

how does everyone else play dvd's on their XL setups.

thanks, i'll try that RIGHT NOW.

***edit***

sorry no luck, i got audio, but no video.
i opened the configuration as the graph was playing, there was not much to configure there.

i opened the graph file, and it is using cyberlink, but when i open my graphedit program and render a video_t file my graph shows mpeg2 splitter and decoder, not cyberlink.
where the cyberlink object is supposed to be, i have 'DScaler Mpeg2 Video Decoder'
(what my computer was choosing by default when i tried to render a video_t file)
looks like i have to get familiar with graph editing.
any help would be great.
thanks in advance.

Great, in any case here is a couple of helpful utilities that might help others to determine which codec your os is really using.

For XP:

For Vista:

Thanks for those Wes. I need to find the latest ver. of graphedit w/o DLing the whole MS SDK. Have a link for that? Last I found was built in 2005. Is that the lastest?
TIA
