Rename movietitle in skin

Postby QTips on Sun Apr 03, 2005 7:26 am

I'm currently working on a movies edit page and try to figure out a way to rename the movietitle with a keyboardlayer.

I tried this event....

Variable set:

Category Name(Optional)
movies
Variable
name
Value
button>input

mayby there is another way to do it or I ask this as a request

Guess I explained this a little weird so I try again...
my request is to change fields in a category from the overlay keyboard

I never tried this myself, but I was thinking along the same lines. I want to rename my photos from within the skin, since on import from my dig cam they are DSP0001232 etc.

I thought steven added the ability to do this some time ago. I will look into it too.

This gets my vote.
bump.

I have also tried to do this with the available release, but have not been able to get it work, it fails when assigning a variable (that which stores your keyboard presses) to a variable (say a category field like movie name).

Ok try using "button>input" now, you should also be able to use "inputbutton"

No luck for me. I guess I dont know what I am doing. What is the command set input text? Is this nessesary for what we are doing? Where do I get a "print out" of what I am renaming? Button ID: button>input? I can rename statically but not dynamically from a keyboard overlay. I am lost.

Also I noticed statically it would be nice to timestamp. This means that I should be able to have a variable set event with the Value= %datetime>f%. This didnt work for me. So its a request.

I can try to explain (would be easier if you sat here next to me :P)

If I hadn't used Set input text to %movies>title% then the overlay would be blank instead of showing the movietitle
