IR commands/format

Postby yotd on Fri Feb 20, 2004 8:01 pm

Hello,

I'm getting "hit and miss" results (mostly miss) when learning then testing IR codes through my USBUIRT (using Xlobby 40exp3). I'm learning the codes for my Sony remote (for Satellite receiver), and after I "learn" the code in Xlobby on the IR Plugin tab, I test it using the Transmit button. Some commands almost always work (like Channel DN), some occasionally work (like the digit 1), but most never work. I've varied the Repeat value and AntiRepeat ms global value with no improvement.

Is there anything I can tweak or try?

Thanks,
TomD

BTW if it helps -- I tested the trial for SnapStream (BeyondfTV) which has built-in USBUIRT support, and that could change the channels fine -- and I see that the IRtuner.tvr file uses HEX values (ex. 0000 0067 0000 0010 0061 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 031d) for each remote channel digit.

Tom

Try looking at the Alpha 40 experimental page under the annoucments section. On page 2 towards the middle I asked a question that I think is reffering to the same problem as you. Steven answered it a bit down the page. Bascially it has to do with the way the remotes are sending out the signal for certain buttons.

For a workaround I used his suggestion and have been using prontoedit and finding codes people have been using in that and copy and pasting the codes from it into xlobby. Works great every time. Let me know if you have any questions on how to do that.
