Russound help

Postby escort on Fri Jan 04, 2008 2:43 pm

Has anyone set up a russound zone system? Do I need to install anything for the RS232 to work? I have steve's default screens but don't really know where to start. Can anyone point me to some documentation? Thanks

Maybe Wes can chimein here. I know they are getting ready for Las Vegas so the reply may take some time. I think you will need to wait for v 3.0 when the RS232 support is available. There has been some discussion on this. Search for Russound.

Yes your right it's been a little crazy trying to get everything ready for CES. Just finished speaking with Steven he just made it to Las vegas. I leave tomorrow morning with Mike Karten, Calrad's sales manager, the rest of the Calrad crew will arrive on Monday thru Thursday. Sorry I have not been more active on the forum lately.

So to answer escorts post, you must have a Rs232 serial port on your xLobby machine, next connect a serial cable between your xLobby machines serial port and the Russound controller, this will establish communication between the 2 units. If you goto the russound example events under F2 you should be able to start sending any of the commands instantly. If communication is not possible, turn the Russound controller off and wait 30 seconds and then turn the power back on.

The example serial port communication settings are preset to Russounds RS232 values and should not be changed.
