To my friends here on xlobby I can say the following: I have been beta testing a great new product and the company has just launched into production. They are offering a $100 rebate (rebate only available to people purchasing in US) to friends of beta testers (I am one) who buy before their huge launch in June.

Get this: how would you like to have infinitely expandable data storage that is bone-dead simple to use and keeps your data protected even if a hard drive dies? If you're interested, you need to check out the Drobo storage robot (go to http://www.drobo.com). I've been using the beta version of this product for a couple of months and it's just great. You can also check out the Drobo online community at http://www.drobospace.com).

If you are interested in buying one, go to http://www.drobostore.com and be sure to use this special code: REFMIKEZ so you get the $100 instant rebate. Act soon, because the $100 rebate expires on May 30, 2007. This offer is only available to people purchasing in the US.

Note: If this not proper to make this offer here. I appologize. Just trying to help out anyone who needs extra storage space!

How fast can date be streamed to it or from it? I couldn't find that answer in the docs. ....er maybe the speed limit is set by the USB port?.... USB version ???? Can you stream HDTV (via mpg2) to/from it?

I can't find hard specs....

With my system (Pentium III 1Ghz) I wouldn't even try to watch HD video. Normally USB is CPU dependant. Don't use with anything other than USB 2. I heard that fellow beta testers with more up-to-date systems didn't have problems viewing HD content. If you want more feedback you could ask on the http://www.drobospace.com website to see if other testers respond back.

USB is also shared bandwidth. Watchout what else you have on the same controller. That's why I don't like the idea of USB hard drives, unless it's for a temporary use, such as backing up, etc.
