V3 Media Player -Playback Size

Postby smarty on Wed Feb 18, 2009 1:29 am

I have just moved up to Xlobby 3 (newest release as of 2/17/09). My custom skin appears fully functional :D , EXCEPT for media player play back. See below.

In the last paid version of Xlobby2, all was well with the media player. My problem seems failry similiar to this post :http://www.xlobby.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=6730.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Edit:
The F5-F11 media player rendering/resizing works, but this only changes the video size within the small and misplaced video "window".

I am using windows Vista home premium, all updates with a 8500 GeForce video card (latest Nvidea drivers for this card are installed).

Smarty,

Under Alt+F2 tab media player what is the selected DVD Graph. What were you using in V2, the internal player or external player. Please call us at Calrad so I can assist you, I am sure we can help you fix it ASAP. Tel: 323-465-2131. :D

Rika,
I meant to say that as of 2/17/09, I am using the newest release which is dated (2009-01-24 02:06:30 Build 3.0.9024.5). Sorry for the confusion. I have no idea what lar282 said

Wes,
I am using the Xlobby internal media player (as a side note, I also used the internal media player for Xlobby version 2 - which worked A-OK on this same computer system).

As for the graph being used, my Xlobby ver2 system used the "Cyberlink PowerDVD6+VMR9" graph. This is what I also tried with the Xlobby 3 system (but it had the smaller screen size).

With my Xlobby 3, I thought I had tried each of the different graphs available, but I am not sure if I needed to re-boot before trying each new gragh (I didn't reboot). Might I have done this wrong?

I will call later this morning, around noon cst (10 am CA time).

I have did some more investigating tonight (this time using my wife's computer - Vista Home premieum).

Again with Xlobby 2, the media player works as desired. When I install and ran Xlobby 3, the media player still shows up with the wrong size (see the picture in the earlier post).

I have noticed one difference (and I think it is IMPORTANT). When using Xlobby2, I can open the graph file I am using (Cyberlink6+ VMR9) and then pull up/open the "DESCALER MPEG2 VIDEO DECODER" - see the attached pdf file.

When I run Xlobby 3, I can open the same graph file, but when I try to pull up the same Video decoder, it DOES NOT OPEN (the other decoders of this graph file will open, but just not the video decoder). Therefore, I believe something within Xlobby 3 is not making use of this codec like Xlobby 2 makes use of it.

U can try to run graphedit and connect to remote graph and see WHAT XL is using. I think the graph is wrong and XL reverts to merit based codecs.

I just reported this in the Mantis system (see below)....hopefully Steven will be able to fix this soon.

0000384 content playback major new 2009-03-10 Media Player playback size OK w/ Ver 2.0.8254.0, but too small with Xlobby 3.0 versions

My same issue remains on the 1 Vista system running ATI on a 1680 x 1050 widescreen. F5, F11, etc., have no effect.
If I use ATI's theater Mode, ATI sends video to the 2nd monitor which is 1280 x 1024, the screen fills properly.
And, videos play on both monitors.

Make sure you are using the default (96 DPI) font settings. If you are using large or extra large fonts I'll bet that is the problem - it fixed my issues when I changed back to the standard font size.
