Loading: IR crashing

Postby Mr_Clean on Fri Apr 09, 2004 9:48 am

hi all

im having trouble with the newer versions of xlobby. the older versions we working fine for me, until i upgraded the latest one. everytime on startup, xlobby gets to Loading:IR then stops and goes no further. I tried running the usbuirt.exe file in the ir/plugins dir, it comes up with
ERROR: Unable to initialise USB-UIRT <unknown error>!
same thing happens with newer version in the announcements section now.

any ideas on how to fix this? btw i dont have any IR receivers or anything similar running on my PC

there is no usbuirt.exe in the latest prerelease 5, and there is no longer an ir/plugins directory....are you sure your running prerelease 5? Also make sure its a clean install (unzip to a new directory)to start off with just to make sure xlobby will even load.

Steven,

I am having the same problem here on my test box. It does not have a USB-UIRT on it. When I load the latest alpha, it locks on the loading IR screen. I haven't gone upstairs to my HTPC and removed the USB-UIRT yet for testing. I'll try that later when I have time (Ha!! time!)

It might stop at the exact same place, but can you try this exe now and tell me where it stops.
