License issue

Postby vaporhat on Fri May 21, 2010 7:25 pm

How do I correct this license issue without reinstalling XL? and why did it happen?

Only difference in my hardware is a few additional HDD's .. but the drive where XL program files are has not changed.

:(

the warning comes up before there is a chance to make any changes or get into any set-up screen.

I did a reinstall and everything was fine. I did not have to deactivate or reactivate any licenses.

I thought Steven fixed that behavior a while ago. In the past if you did not activate your version with a valid liscense it would come up with that message and shut down. I wonder if he changed something that caused this to come back.

Can you deactivate the previous copy? Then load and activate this one?

Hey Vapor,
Restart XL, and then Immediately start pressing Alt+F2 to get into setup to find the new "License Key";
then copy id to clipboard, and in "xlobby.com/my" delete the old license, and create a new one with the new "key" (8 digit code tied to your hardware).
My understanding is that it is done this way for installers so that if a client "changes" something, the machine will stop working.
I hope this helps,
Samson
