I feel bare without my own skin

Hello all,
I am trying to understand how to do this:

music screen organized by genre by default
click on one of the genres-->go to artist
click on one of the artists-->go to album
click on one of the albums-->little overlay with choice of play, add, view tracks

The way I have it now I have an action on enter music screen to set filter genre. I click on my filterdetails category and it goes to artists, click again it goes to albums, click again to tracks, click again it plays the track.
Not good.
So I made a button with a database/back + music/play album action associated to it, and it plays the album, but it isn't quite what I want.
How can I make this excellent program do what I listed above? I'm just sick of MCE's limited capabilities.

Create buttons or a database of genres. Have them execute a custom search or filter for the given genre. Then have the music screen show the filtered results, The music category would have info screen that would be your little overlay. From there you have buttons that do what you want. I think this is all possible.
