Ignoring "A" and "The" in Artist names

Postby edbag4 on Sat Sep 03, 2005 2:42 pm

Steven:
Would it be possible to set up Xlobby to ignore any "A" or "The" at the beginning of an artists name similar to what you did for the movies?

Depending on how the artist is named in freedb when I rip an album to HDD the same group can be spread out through the selections, for instance "Doors" are in the Ds and "The Doors" are in the Ts.

I don't believe this is user selectable, I seem to remember you had to code this in for the movies.

Thanks,
Ed

Why not have a seconday field named sorted artist name? That way the only CPU processing time needed would be when it is ripped and added to the db?
