Poll at HTPCNews.com

Speak your mind

Postby galileo2000 on Mon Jan 16, 2006 5:07 am

Seems like Dean Rodney asked all his customers (total of 10, no offense Dean) to vote on this poll. CQ is quite interesting. Current version is $200.

Xlobby and its customers could do much better if Steven could pa for his basement renewal and concentrate on Xlobby (Wink Wink).

And no, I don't like to pay for the software.

But Xlobby is an exception.

FYI: I was the one who asked folks to post, after I noticed this thread linked to on the xLobby home page.

IVB, I can run, but I can't hide..you find me everywhere with your shameless CQC promotion..

How about this: I now have Xlobby ULTIMATE remote control over the Internet, and with Slingbox coming I will be able to watch all my video sources no matter where I am?

Be a nice guy, learn Xlobby and throw away your CQC mistake :D

I just started using Xlobby a couple of days ago. Very impressed compared to the rest that I have used and it was free. Wow.. so I went and voted for xlobby.

Wish it had RS232 direct support. (hint. hint.)

I did try the newest version of Xlobby that requires .net2. Promptly crashes and sends error report to Microsoft. Went back to previous one. Works fine. Apparently something not quite right with my setup.

Anyways.. Great software and did I mention it was free.

Tom :)

yeah, yeah, Leo, keep talking tough guy; What run&hide? Check the join-date; seems to me like YOU'RE following me. Besides, we'll see how tough you are over drinks next time.

Not that I need to, but to provide you proof that I'm not a CQC-hammer-one-size-fits-all, I've continued down my path of suggesting the right answer to fit the problem. I just referred yet another person to xLobby, as for his purposes [non-HA, just DVD/CD with cover art], this is the perfect solution.

I'd show you all the other times I've recently recommended xLobby, but I'm sore as hell from getting the crap kicked out of me at Squash last night. I just want to go to bed [and it's only 3:30 PST]

IVB,

You know I was kidding, I love you. Looking forward to our drinks session.

Now, it's been 3 weeks since I first downloaded Xlobby.

Today I can watch all my media ( 800 DVDs, HHD-based movies, 2 DirecTV boxes ) using Xlobby/Slingbox/USB-UIRT combo from ANYWHERE in the world as long as I have Inet connection.

Keep us posted. Competition is good. Xlobby is free, and Steven has other interests in his life, so comparison from the enterprise point of view is a bit unfair IMHO.

also keep in mind the poll was "Which Front End Do You Use", every program there will suit a person with different requirements better than another.

Well, Since Xlobby is the first now with 29 votes, it's a good sampling IMHO :D
