that is something else, I didnt know oil was not a conductor of electricity. I think I remember reading somewhere that old power transformers had crude oil in them....same idea I guess? The oil would also helps prevent corrosion.

The old Hydro Transformers are oil filled for cooling..*I'm a Journeyman Electrician*

The oil was also filled with pcb's...I get to hear great stories from the old timer sparky's who used to work on and in the XFormers elbow deep in the oil... didnt think twice about whats in the oil... :shock:

*Maybe that explains why most of the old guys have grown a third arm* :lol:
