Skin images in a db

I'm trying to make all of the menus in my skin with images (coverart specifically) using the side cover left layout.

Only problem is, when I choose an image for coverart I have to browse for it in a specific path. So if anyone uses my skin a different location that coverart for the specific button will not show up. Would it be possible to add an option to point coverart and other items to skin images (that don't require a path to them)?

I am all for this from an architectural perspective. Having the ability to set "xlobby variables" similar to windows system variables would make skin portability much easier. You could then point the image to <SKIN>/images/image.png where <SKIN> is defined in the setup dialog.

I have often wanted this too
Just a local place to point xlobby to.. LOCAL/Xlobby/whateverfolder
That way not only skins, but other custom things could be packaged and moved easier.

in the field of a db item you can put
skin://whateverfolder/whateverfolder2/image.jpg

this makes images such as rating stars, dts, or whatever referenced to the local current skin directory. A modern marvel is born!

This new tool in conjunction with the new events category>variable set makes it possible to update db items with an image included in the skin.

No and No, I need some examples on both to see how you would use it to make sure its worthwhile adding.
