Overlay questions/problems

Postby Mikeydog on Fri Mar 26, 2004 10:09 pm

I have created an overlay on my weather page to allow me to access regional weather, national weather, and weather cams. Anyway, I was able to get the overlay created and it kinda works. The Cancel button works, and the other buttons work also (they switch me to the desired page) but then Xlobby locks up. Not sure what the deal is there. Any suggestions..

does it lock up after you try to close the overlay? or does it switch you to the desired page but when you go to another page after that it locks up?

Hmm... I've seen it lock up on the overlay.. but not after it swtiches to the other screen. Are you sure the overlay is closing fully? Are you using the close overlay option at all, or just a goto command?

I am using just a goto command. That is what it seemed to me, that the overlay may not be closing. Of course once you switch to the new screen you cannot see the overlay anymore.

You could try making an event with multiple commands in it. Try making one that has the close overlay command then a goto command after. That should do it.

Ha that did it. You are the man Jowaldo.. Thanks for your help... I guess I just assumed it would close it automatically and I didn't realize you could put multiple commands in an event.. Thanks again

Also I figured out that you have to have the close overlay command before the goto command, otherwise it leaves the overlay open on the original screen for some reason..??

Yeah you have to do the close overlay before otherwise it doesn't goto quite right... guess it makes sense if you think about it ;)

But yeah multiple commands in an event is one of the things that makes xlobby so stinkin powerful, especially when you get into macro's with ir and xlobby combined. I'm goin nuts with all the ones I'm using.
