Webserver

Postby lar282 on Fri Feb 13, 2009 1:45 pm

Hi
If I start the webserver in V3 and use Ie to navigate to the server. How do u guys scale the screen. Example. My server runs a 1280x720 screen but on the client its only 800x600! I have to scroll in internet explorer to see the far right side. Is there a way to scale so I can see the entire XL screen from the server?

I see what you do on various screens. It doesn't scale.
In fact, I've loss use of my Nokia Web tablet. The screen comes up OK but the image mapping looks like it's not tracking.

/setup does not work. The setup screen comes up but does nothing.
The port is a variable that u set under Alt F2-> webserver

It´s another bug...
"http://your.ip:8002/setup" don´t make any changes. (24/1-09 .exe)
This makes it hard to use smart phones, small screens and such with the webserver...

agree, another bug

There are so many unanswered questions on xnet/webserver/client/server that it makes testing impossible. One does not know HOW it suppose to behave and what is by design.

Wes, Steven we really need for you two to explain what works and what doesn't.

I agree. It would be nice if there was just a little documentation developed on how to use XL3 from a client-server perspective.

Spoke to Steven and he said the installers don't use webserver that much so he hadn't looked at it...
installers rules the feature/bug list so if they don't use it/report it, it gets bumped down.

I think they do use fat client-server quite often, though, and that's mostly what I am interested in as well. But it's hard to troubleshoot my skin if there is no basepoint for how that is supposed to work. I understand that we hobbyists are just hangers on and that they are going in a different direction. But maybe the developers could use that info too?

Thanks - I had given up and went back to version 2 and just saw your offer to help me. If and when I try again with XL3, I will then post my issues. thanks again for the generous offer of help. Sorry to see this community dry up somewhat.
