That's my current setup now,but the point was to shred some apps....
That method do demand alot of work to get it working right if you use more apps than Xlobby.
I use Xlobby,MediaPortal for PVR and Theatertek for movies
more and more htpc software suports MCE remote natively nowadays,so when I start a movie from Xlobby Theatertek works right away with MCE remote.Same thing when I start MediaPortal for TV viewing.
So now it's only Xlobby left for me that don't suport MCE remote.

I dont really understand...u wanna waste stevens time for coding something which can already accomplished? something u have working already? Just because u are lazy to set things up, others who dont use MCE-remote should have that part bloating their XLobby?

In fact what you want is to use xlobby with MCE remote (you can already)
but you want to be able to use the MCE remote with other applications (and thus temporary disable XRemote), right?

It's quite easy
in you .gml created by XRemote, simply create an event drived by the taskswitch plugin and when xlobby comes in front, you activate the XLobby folder, otherwize, you disable it

You misunderstood me I think.....The point was to get thing simpler for newbies in the htpc world and mce remote is a pretty standard remote
I build something on my HTPC constantly so NO i'm not lazy!
