Install error "The application failed to install proper

Postby mowensmd on Sat Apr 09, 2005 9:56 pm

(0xc0000135).

I searched, found this:

" a. To install Xlobby correctly insure that the following files were unzipped into a directory and in this order:

1] xlobby2pre14.zip - from the Xlobby download page

2] xlobby2main.zip - from the Xlobby download page

3] xlobby2.exe - from the Xlobby download page

If your are prompted to overwrite click 'YES'"

Which worked for another user. Problem is, where is the xlobby2.exe on the download page? I did the first two, overwrote files in the same folder after xlobby2main.zip extracted. Same error message. Yes, I have .NET, and confirmed so in Add/Remove programs. Ideas?

Xlobby2.exe is included in the xlobby2.zip file here:

I just thought there was something different about the way the post down below "install the xlobby2.exe from the download page".

So, nobody has a clue. Looks like the learlning curve IS steep.

Download Microsoft Install Cleaner, removed SDK 1.1

Downloaded .NET 1.1 redistributable package

For a test, try installing a prepackaged skin that already includes the executables & updates in the proper directory structure. You can try the French skin package or mine here : http://www.xlobby.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3068

If it still doesn't work, try adjusting your .net security settings.
