ffdshow for DVD upscaling

For many this may be old school. I'm just getting into the whole HTPC now, so this is nice info to have on hand. The actual article can be found at htpcnews.com, within the guide section which discusses setting up Zoomplayer/TheaterTek along with ffdshow.

I just used the same settings as indicated and I can't beleive the results...very happy indeed.

Yep, i am using it here to and am very happy.

One thing that i like is that i now have 5 profiles set up with 1 being for poor quality avis (eg kids animation) and 5 being super sharp for good masters. 3 is the default and uses similar settings to those in the guide.

I have a button on the remote which toggles from profile 1 - 5 to let me tweek the picture on the fly :)

I have been amased with the results for profiles 1/2, they lose all the fine detail in the picture but some really bad files are now watchable on the projector...
