How awesome is that?! I wonder how well it'll work with xlobby though.

Looks good, I wonder if we bought Steven one if he'd make the plugin for it, its about time Xlobby had some easy to impliment remote solution for non-programmers.

Its already got winamp support so the basics might already be there.

Having said all that, its not all that different to the ati remote that jowaldo wrote a plugin for.

I think it was Bill (wmandra) that wrote the plugin. :D

I agree, I'de really really like to get one asap, but I'm not sure how it'll interact without a plugin. But its prolly the best remote for me, the tour has made me all worked up over it. heh

edit: Looks liek intergration is pretty simple. Check out this thread on the site, I wonder if xlobby would register as a front end on that screen though.

looks like an X10 remote with a few changes in the buttons... all the "intelligence" is in the software.
Same the bucks and get an X10 version for $19 from eBay or wait until x10.com has a sale.

Lol. I would normally go with any remote, the thing that sells me on that is how its made for a pc. Not like something that was "hey look this might work for a computer!" All the buttons are labeled to go with an htpc (and a frontend). I had been using the ati remote which is basicly the x10 and i loved it, cept I found poeple coming over and going "COOLLL!!.... Hey what do i need to hit to get to the music section?" ".... the a button." "where the hell is the a button and why do i have to hit it?" So it kinda lost its luster by the time they figured out all the buttons. This seems like a nice way to get the wife (or in my case, wife like girlfriend) to really enjoy the htpc without having something to whine about. heh.

mattdisaster...
you're choice but here's my thought:

#1) firefly remote total = $50

#2) Same remote as firefly just branded X10 $20
labels $0.50
total = $20.50

either way... same difference :wink: just lots less money for choice #2

#3) Not having it look like complete garbage from doing all teh tricky work yourself= Priceless.

@matt
I saw your post over at snapstream's forums... did you ever get a firefly profile built for xlobby?

I just hooked up my firefly last night and haven't had much time to tinker... stupid day job gets in the way.
