I tried forcing xlobby to use .Net 2.0 beta a while back so that I could create a plugin with Visual Express 2005 but xlobby exhibited some strange behaviour - crashed when i did a 'sendmessage' from Girder.

See post http://www.xlobby.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2952&highlight=

If you have .net 1.1 and .net 2.0 installed then I think xlobby will use 1.1 as that is what is was originally compiled for. Your MP executable will probably use 2.0 so it may not cause you any issue having both versions installed and it all might work correctly. Good Luck.

according to my knownloedge, 2.0 and 1.1 are "source code" compatible. and "sometimes" for binaries.
it means that the solution is to rebuild xlobby and ALL plugins with the 2.0 framework.
Then, all plugins still in 1.1 (and no more maintened) will probably have problems

I removed my mess cause I thought I did something wrong, but I think I'm screwed here.

as long as xlobby is nuilt with 1.1 My plugin in 2.0 will not show up cause it has dependicies to MP which is also built upon 2.0.

sucks to be me.....................

Steven come out, please and help me out.Give me some tips or just recompile XL in 2.0!!! he he

Just tried to build a plugin that does NOTHING, but I built it with Visual studio express c# and .NET 2.0.

It will not show up in xlobby at all

IDEA for Steven:

Copy all the source cod
Install .net 2.0 and visual express 2005
Rebuild Xlobby
Upload to web
Let us user test all the plugins and features for 2 weeks. If all is good u go over to .NET 2.0. If not u didn't loose anything exept 2 hours spent installing .net!

What u think?
