Hi Steve,

I hope you doing well.

I did not post for some time now, just waiting to see the final issue about the XL 3.

Any news now about the final ver and the price, the setup if a hardware will apply with it.

Thanks in advanced for any update.

My best.

and looks like we have another "phantom post". When the post is the last one on the page, it vanishes for some reason. Seems to be a paging error.
here is abobader's post that wasn't showing up

Recently upgraded to new pre-release - Looks Great!

However - has anyone else's PPC client stopped working?

I've tried it on a couple of machines, however cannot load it. All other xnet functionality working fine.

Anyone any Ideas?

Thanks

Paul.

Just curious...you setup your server.txt file correctly?

I have, unless the format's changed recently. All was fine until I upgraded from a pre-expiry version to the new version.

Haven't tried with a different skin yet (using heavy metal)

Server.txt Reads:

Server:10.1.40.103
screen:ppcmenu
resolution:auto
Quality:90%
Port:8000
zone:1

have Ensured that Xnet server is definately started and the IP and port are correct. (oh yeah - deffo no firewall ussue either as stopped it completely to make sure! :(

Just seems strange?? begins to load and then just returns back to windows mobile screen. Are there any log files I can check?

Many thanks

Paul.

100% CPU utilization

Postby cooldog on Wed Sep 19, 2007 12:42 am

Steven,

I just saw this again ... first time in a long while.

XLobby sitting at the main menu screen, nothing going on, but task manager shows that it's spinning its wheels on one CPU at about 100%.

I started XLobby, which shut down the misbehaving instance. All appears OK again.

And it's happened again on the 23rd.

Just tried the default skin - still doesn't load on PPC.

Is this Just me?

ppc-client is working fine for me. I"m using the old one from the "free" xlobby, don't know if it's actually changed at all.

Dear Mr. Steven and Mr. Wes,

Please update us with anything, a date/price/final ver ... WHat happend to XL3? How long we should wait to see it?

Till you the truth, I been holding on this since last April, hoping to see something I could buy, and what kept me waiting, becouse I saw what Steven could do with free ver, sure the paid ver will top it.

But days goes by, and nothing been seen in the sky yet.

My best.

I agree with what has been stated above. Neither Steven nor Wes have updated us with anything since CEDIA. The only reason I have waited this long is because I have such a history with xlobby (over 12 unique installs) and I really like the product. As my new theater nears completion, I must make a decision. I am also concerened at the lack of communication from calrad about the status... I have reservations about giving money to a group that is not responsive.

I am trying to be understanding but time is running out for many people.

I hope xlobby will soon be a real product, otherwise after years of use I will have to go elsewhere.

One question, why would you have to go elsewhere? Twelve installs...been a member since 2004, is there a specific need that you would have to go commercial over the free version? Are you expecting something more in the core that the free version doesn't offer you? Personally I think they will be taking things away from us, we pay for it...and not just a little...to get the same level of operation that the free version already does.

the twelve installs are for friends who liked my setup and wanted something similar.

I am missing good support for RS232, insteon, and more stability. There are plenty of glitches that I can live with as long as the software is free, but I would prefer a rock solid tool and I don't mind paying for it.

Some of the new features are useless to me, and honestly I do not understand the decisions to develop them such as an audio player (do we really need another mp3 player?) or a video player (again between zoom, MPC, theatertek...). In 2007 to develop a tool that all of us have been using for so long makes little sense to me, I prefer that xlobby act as the glue to manage my system with a great interface.

If you are right (I suspect you are) about features being removed and a high cost I assume that many will leave. This is also based on the idea that people will be able to stay and wait for the new version.

"Always tease tease tease
You're happy when I'm on my knees
One day is fine, next is black
So if you want me off your back
Well come on and let me know
Should I Stay or should I go?

Should I stay or should I go now?
Should I stay or should I go now?
If I go there will be trouble
An' if I stay it will be double
So come on and let me know
Well come on and let me know
Should I Stay or should I go?"
