Schedules Direct E.P.G. listings

Postby Cabinetguy on Sat May 10, 2008 1:26 am

Is anyone using the new Schedules Direct TV listing service for U.S. listings.
I'm wanting to set this up in Xlobby along with Lar 282's TV Engine 3 plug-in, and I'm looking for feedback.
Also need to find out how to set up an EPG screen.

Thank's

If the TV E3 is using an xmltv database structure, why not just use zap2xml.exe? I have to get back into looking at it again, but you may be able to define the .xml file, and the loader you want to use. In the very least, you could setup a .bat file to run the zap2xml executable with all your commands to make it an automatic feature.

Have a look at my post here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5826&start=15#p41702

I link to the site to set up an account.

You can setup an EPG by simply going to the skin editor (Pause/Break), and under the "Screen" tab, type in your epg title next to the EPG window, this will setup a text type box on your screen. Select that box and then select the EPG tab, then the EPG .xml file. This is the basic steps when using free-lobby. I'm not sure of the steps for X3.

Now that I have my computer working again, I can get back to the questions about EPG screens.
Marbles, I tried doing what you said but for some reason when I do this in Baddabing's HTTC_CF skin Xlobby crashes.
I Lar282's skin it works fine.
Also tried to copy the xml file from Lar's skin to mine, and when I open it in the skin editor Xlobby crashes
Anyone have an idea?

Edit- almost forgot I'm using the free version of xlobby form lar 282's plugin
Thanks

Is xlobby crashing on startup, or when access screens? If it crashes during startup, at what point is it crashing?

Are you also trying to run a .bat file in the HTTC_CF skin, or are you running an executable, and calling on the different variables from the os:execute command? Have you tested the event in setup, or only after you have tied it to a button and attempting right in the skin?

Verify that the xml file is not corrupted by opening it in a web browser. If it opens, most times it is good. Other than minor formatting issues, it should be valid to open in xlobby.

Hey Marbles,

Sorry to take so long to reply, Had to work all day today.

I put a fresh installation of xlobby on the Pc with the last free version updates, so everything is fresh including Windows OS.
Using Baddabing's HTCC_CF skin. I made a new screen with nothing but background. Went to skin editor, screen, add EPG (tvguide name was already in box so I used it), clicked add. No text box showed up. After that I went to item EPG to set the #of channels etc, and xlobby immediately shut down. No warning screen at all.

Had a thought, I am bringing in EPG info in UTF-8 format. Is this the wrong format?
Any ideas ?

Thanks,
Brian

Thanks Lar! That did the Trick :D

I was beginning to think I was going Crazy! (probably am anyway)

Just one more thing to workout with your plug-in then I'll be set. I want to dig around media portal forum first before I bother you about it.

Thanks to everyone for your help!
