Yeah, that's why I'm hoping ts can add something (even that hack since it worked) in his code. Maybe have a check box in the setup/config asking whether to show an overlay on a thin client. That way it can be bypassed if not required.

That was a good "hack" and worked well enough, so let's cross our fingers. :D

Note:
If I remember correctly, I believe there is no way in xlobby to have an overlay show on a client (and JUSTthat client) using intheaters. The overlay will always show up on the server as well. This is not good if you are in an actual multi-room multi-user environment. For me I use the Server UI in the living room, and a PPC in the master bedroom. So if I update intheaters from the PPC, using the hack will cause the overlay to show on Server, PPC, and I believe any other clients.

I had planned on writing a small script (scheduled windows task perhaps), which will run the update nightly, but now with this as a dll (and not a script which I could convert to VB) it may be more difficult.

ok no problem, i can live with that.
the plugin works great otherwise.

Creating a schedule would be great if possible, so by the next day everything is refreshed.
if not, can a plugin be made to run other plugins?
create like a cron job.

for me, i don't mind the overlay showing up on the server while i am on the client because i have the server in the basement server room
so there is no monitor attached.

I just took care of scheduling of the inTheaters update with the xEvent plugin:

viewtopic.php?t=2446

Using F2 configure, you can assign an event to run at scheduled times.

i want to get every last bit of info out of this plugin.

Stills can be shown by having a text field with "category>Xintheaters>stills" (minus the quotes). Then its just sizing the field to your desired size. The plugin takes care of "slideshowing" through them at a pre-determined rate. I don't think there is a variable to change that rate...only the amount of stills that can be downloaded can be adjusted.

Probably some website changes again.

Yep, seems to only find "17", or is it "17 Again", or is it the "movie that has the same concept that's been done sooo many times in the past, and the idea has been just killed"? Either way...that's the only movie being displayed....again, and again....again....again....

*EDIT*
Actually, it is only the coverart that isn't changing. The movie title, rating, director, cast, runtime, genre are changing per movie. The other strange thing, is that the title is shown in the skin edit "Text" window, yet it is not being display in the skin...how strange...I thought I had a text sizing issue, but it is just not showing.

HA! Mine gets stuck on "12 Rounds." Same deal... Everything seems to update except for COVERART and PREVIEW. No previews are showing up.

Looks like the variable "MovieInfo_m title" is not correctly being populated... regex in code probably needs to be changed. Anyone have intheaters plugin source?

Still wondering where he is. Hope he's okay. I just implemented the Post Processing routine and it worked great....just wish the rest of the plugin worked just as well. :(

TS...we need you buddy.

Hope he's OK as well!

I have his original xScript version which I may be able to modify... if I ever get some free time.

If TSW does show back up, I recommend he pull out each of the webpage regex statements into something like an XML input file, so if the webpage format changes (but still contains the same information), we can just edit the REGEXes to correctly find the right info. This was done with the TVMan application source that was provided to me awhile ago.
