Defining screen enter event.

Defining screen enter event.

Postby Jay on Thu Feb 19, 2009 10:21 pm

I need to have some clients open in their own zones by default.

I would have thought <alt><pause- break>screen properties>events>enter event>etc. would allow me to do a zone set for the screen.

But the editor won't spawn and trying to force the task through event manager, then editor doesn't work.

TIA

I did it through trigger "At startup" and that worked

Thanks but can you get me started on that? I haven't used triggers yet.
Thanks.

Alt pause
triggers button
main, add on the right side, choose start (add)
mark the New Trigger, edit, rename to zonestart
press event Editor on left side.
Find music Set Zone 2 (if u dont have it u have to create one)
Drag that event to the Trigger manager to the bottom left white space (Events)

I follow but missed one item. Sorry Lar.
You said "...mark the New Trigger, edit, rename to zonestart".

I cannot mark the new trigger to make it active.

Alas.
Thanks for the verification.
This is a problem when I have guests. I need to go around and set zones for them.

It's me who was confused.
When you said, "Looks like u got it correct. doesn't it work." I was in a hurry and thought you meant 'it doesn't work'. Now I realize that was a question. :(

I haven't created any events to go with this. I took you literally and just did the trigger. So, when I start XL and look at the overlay on my zone 4 client, it still goes to zone 1.

So I need an event? An event to launch the trigger?

But u do have an event. If I look at your picture there is an event coupled to the trigger called zonestart. That event in your picture sets the zone to zone 4.

its all drag and drop(to answer your other question) so if u just want to change the event just drag another event to the bottom left box there where it says (trigger manager) events

I honsetly think that trigger should work in the picture unless u are not connected to the server upon starting the client. if not connected it cannot set zone 4 because that zone is on a server!
