EPG

Anybody know of a good standalone EPG program that one can use a existing xml file?
I don't want anything that's hardware dependet, cause my card is never supported.
I just want to take alook at other EPG:s and see how they are compare to the one built into xlobby

Lar282,

As the EPg in Xlobby is not started/finished you wont be able to compare. What I hope you will see is (that beacuse it is " late" ) it will have the benefit of improving on existing EPGs

The real answer to your question is how well an EPG interfaces to the TV software that works for your card.

Actually I like the EPG in Xlobby. If just 2 things get fixed (posted in the other section) then I don't need more. I don't want alot of fancy functions. I've been using the epg in xlobby forever (it feels like) now

Im using showshifter as my EPG.
1 problem is that it is slow like hell. They are fixing it though.
That program gives me the best quality tv picture i have ever seen with my card (better than GotTv, Chris, Ati MMC).

O2grabber is not a EPG. It only downloads and creates the XML file needed.

I did now and the problem is that if it's used with O2Grabber (the only xml download for sweden), I can only use 1 day download otherwise the tvholic crashes. Otherwise it was good, but I like xlobbys better.

Hello Lasse,

Do you have somewhere a listing of the variables that we can retrieve from the xlobby EPG ?

Thanks

sorry, no. I just use the EPG straight up. Now when Steven fixed the 2 problems I had, the EPG is really good.

What are u planning to do?

I'm thinking about writting a plugin for a better integration of K!TV.
(I already asked several questions about the plugin SDK but no answers until now :( )

One of the method will be (if possible) to schedule a record from the epg
So I need to retrieve the channel, the start, stop and name of a program.

Yes of course,

you must have k!tv and the zoomout plugin.

Actually we have only the "Record-Now" feature. But I hope to extend it to a complete EPG drived system.
